Recently I met Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey Lisa Townsend and Chief Constable Gavin Stephens to talk about residents’ concerns. In particular, we discussed women’s safety and tackling the issue of male violence.
To date, I'm pleased to report that Surrey has received over £1 million from the Government’s Safer Streets Fund, including £300,000 for Godstone and Bletchingley.
From increased street lighting, to the installation of more CCTV, to addressing the underlying causes of violence against women and girls - this fund is there to help make our public spaces safer.
