Many of you have got in touch with me recently to ask how you can personally help those fleeing the war in Ukraine.
From donations of food to medicines to toiletries, I have been so inspired by the generosity already shown by so many across East Surrey.
The community-led action we have seen will quite literally save lives. Thank you.
Some of you have also offered to take in Ukrainian refugees yourselves.
I'm pleased to report that the Government's Homes for Ukraine scheme was launched this afternoon and is now open to residents, businesses and charities to volunteer to do exactly that.
