As some of you may know, I am a thwarted dog owner. (It's a long-term issue I'm working on...)
So it was such a pleasure to visit the team at the Greyhound Trust's newly-built National Greyhound Centre, based right here in East Surrey.
Above all, it was a delight to meet Rolo who, as you can see below, was doing his very standard greyhound lean on me.
The centre was built not only to find homes for retired racing greyhounds and help them transition from race dogs to family pets, but also to support the Trust's volunteer-led branches across the country.
Thanks so much to Lisa, the CEO, for showing me around. It's such an impressive operation and I can't wait to attend the opening in a few months' time, after which the centre will be open for members of the public to visit as well.
