After much banging on doors over recent months, I am so pleased to share that resurfacing works have been completed on Massetts Road.
Since becoming your MP in 2019, improving our local roads has been one of my top priorities, and I know this resurfacing will make an enormous difference to local residents and businesses in Horley.
Huge thanks to Matt Furniss, Cabinet Member for Highways at Surrey County Council, for agreeing to make this work a priority, and to all the Horley Town Councillors who campaigned so hard for this including Andy Lynch, Giorgio Buttironi, Hannah Avery and Jordan Beech, and who came to see the work in action (in the pouring rain!).
Looking ahead, I will continue to work with local leaders on my East of Surrey Local Economic Taskforce to push forward on our infrastructure priorities.
I have written to Surrey County Council about the pothole contractor, which is up for review, to stress the need for quality repairs as well as increased monitoring of repairs.
And I am extremely supportive of SCC's new Lane Rental Scheme spearheaded by Matt Furniss, which will mean utility companies will have work at pace to repair the roads they dig up or face fees.
I will continue to update you on our progress in the coming weeks. As ever, if you have any questions or need my help, please do email me at [email protected] and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
