I was delighted to be appointed as a Senior Fellow of Policy Exchange this week.
One of the topics I mentioned last year in my Maiden Speech in the House of Commons was the importance of politicians making sure we are properly equipped for the future economy.
From green finance and fintech to space, tech and AI, there's enormous scope for Britain to work with like-minded countries and lead the way in addressing shared global challenges and embracing the opportunities of the 21st century.
That's why I chose to work with Policy Exchange's Indo-Pacific Commission, which was supported by Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister of Canada, and Shinzo Abe former Prime Minister of Japan.
As the fastest-growing region in the world, it is vital that Britain engages with the Indo-Pacific and across the globe on technology and climate change. Both will be vital to East Surrey’s future prospects.
