This year we continued to recover from the aftermath of the pandemic and inflation, however I know many of you have been concerned this year about the war in Israel and Gaza, strikes in the NHS and persistent problems with Royal Mail deliveries. On the positive side of the ledger, with inflation now down to 3.9%, wages growing faster than inflation, and business investment growing the fastest in Europe, we are turning the corner.
