Jeremy Heywood was a former Cabinet Secretary who served five Prime Ministers. From my time working in Whitehall in my 30s, I know he was widely regarded as a titan in the Civil Service and a master problem solver.
This competition, with a £25,000 top prize, has been set up by the foundation founded in his memory as a chance for you to put forward your solutions – big or small – to improve Britain.
It is split into two parts: the first asks you to identify a single challenge or opportunity that the pandemic has highlighted and the second is to identify a policy solution. Submissions are short, and the idea is the key.
