I had the pleasure of visiting Bay Pond in the eco-rich Holmesdale Wetlands last week as part of my efforts to secure a new land designation - the Wild Belt - so that we can create and protect connected habitats for wildlife.
The Surrey Wildlife Trust has been investing a great deal of time and resources into restoring the Holmesdale Wetlands’ biodiversity, and it’s exactly the kind of site a Wild Belt would protect and preserve.
Thanks to Sarah Jane Chimbwandira and team for such a brilliant visit. I can’t wait to be back again soon.
