The childcare plans we announced in this week’s budget will be transformational for working parents struggling with the costs of childcare.
We’ll be expanding our 30 hours entitlement to cover from the end of parental leave right up until children go to school, and working to have universal wraparound care in schools too.
I’m tremendously proud that we’re introducing the most radical change to childcare policy in over a decade, so I went to speak to parents and early years staff (and babies!) at the YMCA Horley Young People and Family Centre and YMCA Merstham Pre-school about what our announcement will mean for them.
