I’m delighted that thousands of patients in East Surrey will get quicker access to life-saving tests, scans and checks at new one-stop shop as we are getting a new community diagnostic centre at Caterham Dene Hospital, which will mean quicker access to health services closer to home.
CDCs in the South East have already delivered over 587,000 tests, checks, and scans since July 2021, helping to cut waiting times for diagnosis and treatment.
It will provide services including ultrasound, X-ray, DEXA, echo, electro, and lung function tests.
Once fully operational, the new centre will deliver an extra 6,065 tests, checks and scans a year. This will be an important step in driving down waiting times for residents.
