Vulnerable households across East Surrey will soon be able to access a new £500 million government support fund to help with essentials over the coming months.
The money will be distributed by local councils, who I believe are best placed to help those who need it most. As an example, this could be done through small grants to meet daily needs such as food, clothing and utilities.
The cash will be made available to local authorities in October, and the scheme will run over the winter months.
I will post another update when I have more details about the local plans for East Surrey. In the meantime if you have any questions or need my help, please do email me at [email protected].
