I recently met with Sarah and Ian McCubbine and Chris and Phillip French in Bletchingley to hear firsthand about the devastating impact that Labour's new Family Farm Tax will have on tenant farmers and large landowners alike.
Many families who have farmed the land for generations could be forced to sell off parcels of land to meet these costs. These farmers should be thanked for the food security they provide for this country, not taxed out of their livelihoods.
I, along with 117 of my colleagues, signed a letter to the Chancellor outlining the damaging consequences of their decisions and asking them to turn back before it is too late.
