After two years of restrictions, it was such a pleasure to welcome a group of East Surrey residents to the Houses of Parliament for a tour this afternoon.
I was saying to my team just this morning that when you work here every day, it’s easy to forget how rich the history is in the Palace of Westminster.
This is the site where Henry VIII lived, Charles I was sentenced to death, and Winston Churchill lay in state - and I was so pleased to share its magic, beauty and history with residents today.
I’m really looking forward to welcoming many more of you soon - please do contact me at [email protected] if you’d like to be added to the list.
