I’m always in awe at the magnificent charities we have locally, and SeeAbility deserve to be celebrated. Their mission is to provide people with learning disabilities, autism or sight loss with support to live full lives and achieve things they never thought possible.
I visited them in Horley to see the excellent care they provide, meet some of their residents and discover how their assistive tech makes daily life easier for those with visual impairments.
It was also really useful to hear from the fab Gladys and Zuzana about how we can improve social care and eye care provision across the country – I’ll be taking their suggestions back to my colleagues in government.
They’re always on the lookout for new volunteers and fundraisers so do check out their website: https://www.seeability.org/get-involved
