I recently went to see the progress on the new pavilion at Merstham Rec with Bruno from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. This £3.5 million investment will completely transform the rec. It will provide changing rooms, a café kiosk, an outdoor gym, a public orchard, and much more.
Given my role as Shadow Energy Secretary, I was especially interested in the solar panels going up on the pavilion’s “green roof”. Thank you to all the wonderful people who have been involved in getting this new pavilion built. I can’t wait to see this open and be enjoyed by the whole community.
Thank you also to Cllr Biggs who later rolled up his sleeves and helped me clear litter from around the development.
