Over the summer holidays, hundreds of thousands of children from low-income backgrounds will get free access to fun activities and a hot meal through our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
This morning I was at Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development in Dorking, where children were learning woodland crafts, orienteering, rock climbing, testing their team spirit on the high ropes and so much more.
Our £200 million programme helps low-income children get a nutritious meal, get active, learn new skills and make new friends over the holidays – all of which are really important for their development. Over 600,000 children took part last summer, including over 4,000 in Surrey.
