Thank you to Maria and Anthony from the Netherne-on-the-Hill Residents' Association for giving me such a detailed update on life in the village. Netherne is lucky to have such dedicated people representing their wonderful community.
Following recent boundary changes, the village is now part of the East Surrey constituency, and I look forward to working with residents on the issues that are important to them. We discussed challenges with helicopter noise and the lack of a regular school bus.
As its name suggests, Netherne sits on top of a hill. It's a hill that seems to get bigger when you walk back up it. I can see why residents are concerned with their children walking to and from school. I promised to meet with Metrobus to see if a service can be delivered to allow children to get to and from school safely.
