As an MP, I make a point to get out and see people who might not be able to meet me at my surgeries or when I’m out on visits. A few weeks ago I received a delightful letter from a resident at Charters Court Care Home, who wanted to meet me to talk about local health services.
I was able to pop into the home recently to say hello to Mrs Botham, meet lots of other residents like the fabulous Ivy and Lucy, and to chat with managers Melanie and Anne about how they provide tailored personal care for their residents and challenges facing the social care sector more widely.
