Nurturing the life-changing habit of reading for pleasure is one of the most precious gifts we can give our children – and I can think of few better ways to do so than Meath Green Junior School’s new library bus.
From Shakespeare and Enid Blyton to Roald Dahl and David Walliams, I had a tremendous time talking to their Year 6 pupils last week about our favourite authors and my work as an MP.
A massive well done to Mr Amerio and Mrs Beasley, for whom this has been a real passion project over many years. I was so impressed by the excitement the children showed for reading and their razor-sharp questioning!
