Claire Coutinho, MP for East Surrey, today cheered the efforts of Caterham Sweet & Savoury Waffles as the business bounces back from lockdown.
Located on Croydon Road Sweet & Savoury Waffles have a delicious selection of treats including ice creams, milkshakes, smoothies, sundaes and of course waffles.
Since the lockdown started to ease in June they have been providing punters with their waffle fix in takeaway boxes. Customers could order direct from the shop in Caterham or sending their order and preferred time for collection via text or Whatsapp.
Claire Coutinho, MP for East Surrey, welcomed their efforts: “I very much enjoyed chatting with Said about how he and his business are bouncing back from lockdown. It is always heartening to see businesses adjust and adapt to some of the biggest challenges they have ever faced. I very much enjoyed my chocolate milkshake and look forwards to visiting soon to enjoy some of their mouth-watering waffles out in the sun.”
“There are 590 hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses in East Surrey that are now able to re-open and restart after the lockdown. These sectors are often major sources of employment and investment in local communities. It is vital we all do what we can to support a crucial part of the local economy over the next couple of months.”
Said, manager and owner of Caterham Sweet and Savoury Waffles, has enjoyed welcoming customers: “It has been so wonderful to say hello to new faces and my regulars - I think of them like a family. There are just two months of Summer left so please do take advantage of the chance to enjoy our delicious home-made waffles out in the sun. We are very much looking forward to serving all you waffle lovers out there!”
