I recently sat down with Tandridge's brilliant new Borough Commander, Lyndsey Whatley, to discuss crime concerns that many of you have raised with me.
We discussed the rise in keyless car theft and tool theft, which I know has been particularly worrying for residents in Woldingham and Warlingham. Thankfully the Government's Safer Streets Fund has boosted the number of ANPR cameras in Tandridge from 4 to 11, which has been really helpful for officers to track suspects, and officers are continuing to follow active lines of enquiry.
I also raised the issue of officers' time being taken up on mental health, safeguarding and wellbeing incidents, picking up the slack of other local services. We all want to see officers focusing on bread and butter issues like burglaries, so I'll be taking this to meetings with local health organisations.
