I want to provide an update following my team’s meeting with the Cash Access, the company providing the Banking Hub in Caterham following the closure of Lloyds Bank.
My team received assurances that Lloyds will not be able to close until the Banking Hub is open, alongside confirmation that an out-of-hours cash point has been recommended – something we know has been a key concern for residents.
They also sought clarity on the services the Hub will offer. The five largest banks in the area (based on local customer numbers) will each have a community banker available. If a particular bank has a significant number of customers, as Barclays and Lloyds do, there is a possibly for extended contact hours. Those who bank with smaller firms will have access to a community banker at the Hub on a less frequent basis.
The Cash Access team will be engaging with the community throughout the year and I will make sure these visits are publicised.
My team will be receiving monthly updates, so when we receive these I will make sure to keep residents updated. If you have any questions, please email me on claire.coutinho.mp@parliament.uk and I’ll feed them into our conversations with Cash Access.
