Growing up, trips to the library were some of my favourite days and I’ve been a bookworm ever since.
I think it’s so important that a love of reading is nurtured in every child from their earliest years – not just for their own learning and development, but for the wonderful stories they can discover along the way.
I visited Horley Library recently, where the wonderful staff showed me all that they’re doing to encourage children and young people to pick up a book and get reading.
They told me all about how their reading sessions for autistic children, storytime sessions and half-term craft groups are bringing children into the library and getting them rifling through the bookshelves.
It’s a fantastic hub for the community in Horley – do have a look at their Facebook page to see if they’re running any events you might want to come along to.
